What Is Double Wall Fabric?

Double Wall Fabric is an innovative PVC-based material that has a variety of key features and applications. It is often used to manufacture soft-sided luggage, bags, and backpacks due to its lightweight nature, durability, and tear resistance. In addition, it is also commonly utilized in various sports equipment and gym mats for its cushioning properties and impact absorption capabilities. Moreover, its strength and insulation properties make it an ideal choice for protective covers and tarpaulins, and as an insulation barrier for construction projects.

This material is manufactured through a unique process called drop stitch technology. This technique involves two different layers of fabric that are interconnected with vertical pile yarns. These threads are made of industrial polyester and ensure a strong connection between the skins of the double-wall structure. The resulting structure is incredibly resilient and offers great stability and flexibility, even when inflated to high pressure. In addition, the double-wall structure of the fabric makes it resistant to abrasion and puncture, making it an excellent choice for protective coverings and tarpaulins.

When compared to traditional PVC tarpaulins, double-wall woven fabrics offer 50% higher warp and weft tensile strength, allowing them to be stretched further without tearing. This improved tensile strength allows manufacturers to create more durable products, including inflatable kayaks and stand up paddle boards. Moreover, this technology is used to produce a wide range of other products such as gym mats, tents, and inflatable boat bottoms.

The versatility of double-wall woven fabrics makes them a popular choice for manufacturing inflatable products. They are available in a wide array of colors and patterns, allowing manufacturers to customize their products and meet specific market requirements. Furthermore, these fabrics are also extremely water-resistant and are able to withstand the elements, making them an excellent choice for protecting cargo or materials in outdoor conditions.

Double-wall woven fabrics are an ideal material for inflatable products, such as kayaks and SUPs. Their durable construction and lightweight design allow for easy transport and storage. Additionally, their insulating properties make them a good choice for creating insulation barriers for construction projects or industrial applications.

Although our inflatable high strain double wall fabric is very difficult and sturdy it is still possible to puncture the flooring if any pointy or rugged merchandise is pushed challenging adequate compared to its surface. This could include sharp fins on fish, hooks or any other items.

When installing the Frame pieces it is important to leave a 1/16” gap between each piece to allow the Frame jaws to open properly when inserting the Fabric. It is also best to install the Frame pieces in a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction to help ensure that they are all aligned correctly.
